Support Nursing Students

We are launching a campaign to raise funds to support nursing students with merit scholarship. To get this kick started, we are partnering with Chandrakant Institute of Nursing & Health Sciences, a unit of Liver Foundation, West Bengal on this important Initiative.

According to WHO’s 2020 report, there is a significant shortage of nurses, approx. six million across the globe. If not addressed, this shortage will grow to 13 million by 2030.

When it comes to healthcare, there are no health professionals more committed to patients’ health, safety, and dignity than nurses. They work tirelessly to ensure patients receive the utmost care possible, and we truly believe they deserve the very best education.

We are raising funds to offer merit-based scholarships for three very important reasons:

  • Nurses are the foundation of the healthcare industry
  • There is a shortage of nurses worldwide and a constant demand for quality medical care
  • Nursing education is getting to be increasingly expensive

We, at Friends of Liver Foundation West Bengal (FLFWB), strongly believe in this cause and request for your support. Donate Now

Blood Donation Drive

The need for blood is local and connects us. Everyone in our community plays an important role in saving the lives of patients in need of blood transfusions.

Thank you for your support in Texas, we partnered with Carter BloodCare and CoppellER, in hosting multiple blood drives throughout the year. Please check out the images from those blood camps.

FLFWB partnered with American Red Cross, hosted blood drives in a couple of other cities across the nation.

Act now, let’s do our part and save lives, through Blood Donation.

India - Vaccine Access Initiative (VAI) - Reaching the Unreached

In 2021, we partnered with Liver Foundation, West Bengal on a project named Vaccine Access Initiative (VAI).  The VAI program is targeted to cover elderly individuals, especially those who are indigent, have physical or mental comorbidities which preclude them from participating in ongoing vaccination programs, are socially, economically, or otherwise vulnerable and unable to access COVID-19 vaccination programs with ease. The VAI program will help to bridge the gap and enable these excluded, but high-risk groups, to access vaccination services.

Please note, that the requisite vaccine doses would be provided by the local government through its existing stock.

Thank you for your support

As you can see from the video, a little help can go a long way. Great strides have been made in curtailing infections by Oxygen on Wheels and COVID Care Centers. Nonetheless, there is much more to be done to reach the ‘unreached’.
